The AAR-Barbara Bini Collection of photographs on Rome consists of ca. 1000 images including contacts, photographic prints and duplicates. A selection from positives has been cataloged and corresponding negatives digitized.
Research Institutions' archives from which new prints were made include: The Getty Research Institute Special Collections; Deutsches Archaeologisches Institut (DAI), Athens and Rome; and the American School of Classical Studies, Athens.
Work described: contact from a 12 shot sheet. All images from different details on the Arch of Constantine, frieze of Constantine: scene on the battle of the Milvian Bridge. Constantine, missing in this relief, was in the boat immediately to the right of the River God, adjacent to the bridge at bottom left. Along the top of the frieze, enemies are drowning in the river Tiber, having been overtaken by Constantine's soldiers. Musicians celebrate the victory.
