BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
Little information about the life of Des Granges is known. However, between the years of 1860 and 1890, he did work in Athens, where he was a researcher of the French School of Athens. (G. Reveillac "Les photographies de la Grande fouille de Delphes" in Histoire de l'Art, 19, 1992, 3-13).
SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Des Granges Collection in the Photographic Archive of the American Academy in Rome contains photographs of Mosques and Churches in Jerusalem. The 11 album prints show images of El-Aksa and Oman Mosques, Churches and views of the city. The photos are signed "Des Granges".
ARRANGEMENT AND PROCESSING INFORMATION
The 11 prints are mounted on a single board, re-housed in polytilene sleeves, horizontally stored in 1 acid-free box located on a shelf in the consultation room of the AAR Photoarchive. 4 album prints, 20x30 cm 7 album prints, 30x40 cm No original negatives.

The digitized images on the DHC have been selected as samples.
