About the Digital Humanities Center

The Digital Humanities Center (DHC) of the American Academy in Rome unites the Academy's archival resources in one single search interface. The DHC contains thousands of descriptions (metadata) of archival objects and digital objects (photographs and digitized texs) from the Academy's institutional Archives, the Photographic Archive and the Fototeca Unione Collection, the Archaeological Study Collection, the Regia excavation, and other archival collections.

The DHC is based upon an implementation of ArchivesSpace for metadata management and a Drupal search layer.  The digital objects and associated metadata in the DHC are preserved in the Academy's Fedora repository.

The DHC has been developed thanks to the generous support of the Samuel H. Kress Foundation

For questions about the DHC, please contact Sebastian Hierl, Drue Heinz Librarian.
